I am so excited that its Friday. Here are my favorite things to do with my Mom and Dad on the Weekends. I am older now so I don't see my parents everyday, but the things I like to do with my parents now is not much different.
- Watch College Football with my Dad. He gets so animated. I usually jump up and high five him when OU scores. He took me to the national championship game when OU played FSU. (we won by the way :) I think his arm still has permanent finger marks where I clenched his arm when I was nervous.
- Go shopping with my mom. Its not even about getting stuff. Its going out and about and enjoying the day.
- Going to movies with my Dad. He will either sleep or love it. He always gets popcorn. Sorry mom, I have probably had more "really bad for you" popcorn in my life than you know. Sorry dad, I ratted you out.
- My mom teaching me how to sew and do crafty things. I didn't really like this when I was younger, but she was always making things (cross stiching, making tons of christmas doormats, sewing) She would always have me help her. I learned alot from her and I love it now! Mom, when you come visit next..you have got to help me sew a slip cover for a thrift store chair I bought.
Then someday, you will get married and see how your husband likes to spend time with his parents. Here is Lee's fave things to do with his mom and dad:
- He (and now I) love to try out new things with his mom OR go with her to try out new things he or she's found.
- He loved to talk to his dad about life and when he was away from home, would call most nights.
- With both, we really enjoyed playing games. His dad would KILL us in Monopoly or LIFE. His mom is really good at the "telephone picture game" and Mad Gab ( "Chew Lie Tea Force " - its an inside joke from Mad Gab that I still laugh at from time to time. When you play Mad Gab, you will understand.)
All that to say, have a fun weekend. Cheer for the Sooners to beat Cincinatti. For my best friend Ashley (
check out her blog here) cheer for Arkansas to beat Alabama....and spend some time with your mom and dad!
