Does anyone miss Kanakuk?  I know I am here all the time but I still miss kamp.  I am in an office and kamp is empty.  Someone sent me this today and it made me smile.  It brings back the memories of our morning breakfast live concerts with Cooper and Caleb.

State of the Union

Do you have a New Years Resolution?  I am not a big New Years resolution maker but I always have a few.  I actually try to have a few "State of the Union" addresses each year.  Do you know what I mean by that?  The president of the United States always gives a "State of the Union Address" (or more simply state "State of the country address) to congress and citizens.  He tells us what is going on and what we are going to do better.  I am better at doing State of the Union Addresses than New Years Resolution.  Here are mine

Whats going on now:

• I climbed part of the stairs at K-1 (we are fixing the other part.  No, not with an elevator but better stairs) and I couldn't breathe at the top.

What I am going to do:

• Run at least twice a weeks so I will be ready to conquer those this summer

Whats going on now:

• No snow in Branson.  In fact, this winter has brought 60 degree weather.  What!?

What I am going to do:

• Pray for snow everyday until I see some.  If we don't get any, I might make my own.  Did you know that you can order real snowballs to be sent to your house?  Yep, they pack them on dry ice to keep them frozen.

What is going on now:

• I love Dr. Pepper

What I am going to do:

• drink more water.

I love Chick-Fil-A

My favorite place to eat is Chick-Fil-A.  I always crave it on Sundays and a couple of times have started heading that way to get my Chicken Sandwich on Sundays.  Usually about 1/2 way there I realize that they are closed on Sundays.  My first reaction is to be frustrated but then I am quickly reminded that they close on Sundays so their employees can go to church and have time with their family.  Love that!

Happy New Year

I took quite a big break for Christmas and now I am back getting ready for camp.  I know its January but around here we are always getting ready.  Christmas ends and it seems like summer comes so fast!  The first step is to get your counselors and kitches hired.  We will do that next month.  We are also planning for the parties.  Stay tuned I want to get your opinion on which parties we should choose.

I know that some of you went back to school this week but don't be discouraged.  Kanakuk is on the other side of this semester at school!  Funny skits, fun friends, and learning about Jesus is on its way.
