Kanakuk Skit

I was missing kamp a little and then I found this video of a kamp skit that one of my staff took.  This was the half time skit between stunt performances.  It was a little piece of kamp in my office today.  So, if you are missing kamp today this will make you laugh.  (In this skit, these crazy guy are portraying kampers that are not allowed to go to stunt because the evil maintenance man has made them work...which would never happen at kamp....but if it did, this is what it would look like)  Note the play off of the broadway shows Oliver and Annie!

What it Looks Like When Kamp Ends

I'm Back from vacation....well, my husband and I didn't go anywhere so I like to call it a "StayCation"  but I did take some needed rest and relaxation!  I am not done blogging because the summer is over.  I am going to post tomorrow about what this Blog will look like post camp!  I went to K-1 for the first time in over a week.  I took Piper (my dog) for a run and I thought I would get some footage of what kamp looks like.  I don't go there much right after camp because it still feels like summer and still feels like Kamp should be going.  I miss all the staff and kids so I just don't go.  When winter comes it doesn't feel like kamp and its cold so I don't mind it so much.  Anyway, here is what kamp looks like today.  Its sad but there is always the anticipation for next summer.

By the way...for all you 5th term kampers....the kickapoos won the term!

We finished K-Work today, got to to all the fun things of kamp and ended our day with a Free Swim.  The kampers went to their final tribals tonight and are now tucked away in their bed.

Color Catastrpohe

Last night was the Color Castastophe Party.  It truly lived up to its name!  We had a huge paint fight.  Here is some footage.  I am doing a short blog because I am headed to the Honor Cabin Trip.  Cabins 1, 9, 13, and 14 get to enjoy a night at the movies for being the cleanest cabin!

Last night we had Stunt!  It was fabulous.  Its a play that we do that every kid has a part.  I caught some highlights of both.  I tried to get every kid that was in both.

Another Day at Kanakuk

I am sorry to say that what I had to blog about has been hindered by my computer not wanting to work.  We had stunt tonight!  It was so fun to watch the Kicks and Kiowas perform.  I promise I will have that footage tomorrow.  I have so much to blog about that I will even blog twice!  I am so sorry.  We had a fun and cool day today. The kids practiced for Stunt.  I want to save the good stuff for my blog tomorrow....but I will unveil the themes

Kanakuk K-1 - K-Extravaganza Party - 8/4/2010

A few days ago we had the K-extravaganza party. IT was a blast. Here is what we did! YEsterday we had March Madness (our basketball tourney) The kids were split up into teams by tribes and played each other. While they were waiting to play or after they got eliminated they got to play in the pool and watch a Basketball movie in the airconditioned chapel. Yesterday was 101 degrees. We kept those kiddos hydrated and in the pool. Today is 73 degrees! We got rain that cooled it all down!!! Today the girls are scheduled and are getting ready for Stunt. (our big play!)

Kanakuk Klinic Day

My computer is working and I can start sharing with you the fun videos that I have taken.  First of all, today is K-Extravaganza Party today!  The kids got breakfast in bed.  They ate Kalaches and Koffee Kake.  They had a Kookout for lunch!  I will post more about the activities tonight.  All of our trips are back!  Those were our last girl trips of the summer!  It is crazy how time flies! 

The other day we did one of our Klinic Camps.  They do their sport that they chose for two hours.  Here is some footage from that.

K-Life and Donut Social

I am sad to say that you will have to wait one more day for the video that I have taken on Sunday and video that I took today.  The computer department is coming tomorrow to help me with my technological problems.   But I have some fun stuff today.
All of our two week campers left today to go out on trip.  On trip they get to ski. tube, bluff jump, play in Table Rock Lake, camp out and just have a blast.  They will all be back tomorrow.  Our 25 day kampers were here and we had a fun day with them.  I taught Archery with cabin 10.  If you have a camper in Cabin 10 you would be amazed at their archery skills.  Avery shot a Bullseye the first shot from 15 yards.  Brighton can get it on the target every time she aims and Clara can hit any color that I tell her to!  Olympics 2020?

I had Cabin 16 at the tree house.  Those girls are quick up that climbing wall.  We had K-Life tonight.  Here was some footage from opening K-Life.

Problems with my new flip

Well, I took so great footage today and then I plugged my new flip video in and there is some corrupt file that won't allow me to get these videos uploaded!  Bummer!  I will get the computer department to help me tomorrow.  Today was a great first full day for our new two weekers.  We slept in, had church and then had a fun day!  Tonight is a crime mystery night.  Here are some of the characters.  (The Theme is Alice in Wonderland and of course Kanakomo is Wonderland.)  This is tweedle dee and tweedle dum

Tonight Alice will fall into a deep sleep after being tricked into eating a poisoned donut.  The girls must interrogate all the Characters  (the door mouse, the white rabbit, the queen of hearts...the cards, the flowers, the march hare and tweedle dee and tweedle dum.)  Figure out WHO DUNNIT...and then Alice can only be awaken by a Kanakomo Song.  The girls must sing loud!
